Jeshua Tromp | Cognitive Neuroscience Research

Dr. Jeshua Tromp is a postdoctoral researcher in cognitive neuroscience at the Donders Institute, Radboudumc, studying the gut-microbiome-brain axis and iron’s effects on brain and cognitive health.

I’m a cognitive neuroscientist, currently working as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Donders Institute in the beautiful city of Nijmegen. My research focuses on the gut-microbiome-brain axis and the consequences of iron deficiency and iron overload on brain, cognitive, and mental health. Take a look at Projects to find out more about my current research projects, or feel free to reach out if you’d like to connect.

In my work, I combine computational modeling with advanced statistical methods to uncover patterns in large multivariate datasets. This means I spend a lot of time coding in R and Python - though mostly standing on the shoulders of the heroes who maintain research packages on GitHub. Beyond my direct research, I have a broad interest in all things science and philosophy. In my Dutch blog Hersenvoer, I write for a general audience about my work and beyond, check it out! If you want to know more about me personally, visit About for a (very) short educational and personal history.
